Sinclair Bump Gage Inserts serve the purpose of measuring the shoulder bump when arranging the full-length sizing dies. These gages are compatible with either of the comparator bodies and are exclusively built to fit certain shoulder angles of cartridges. The gages don't rely on the datum line. Instead, they provide readings based on the shoulder of the case, leading to a more practical estimation of the sizing done on the cases. The recommended shoulder bump for bolt-action rifles is between .001" to .002", while for AR-15 type rifles, it should vary between .003" to .005".
