The Sinclair Two-Piece bore guide system is designed to enhance alignment of the cleaning rod with the bore of a firearm. It achieves this by using a guide within a guide. To begin with, the guide body is inserted into the action and creates a seal to the chamber using an O-ring, which is the traditional bore guide method. Then, a separate guide is placed into the rear of the guide body. This additional guide provides a slip fit for the cleaning rod. An 8-inch insert with a tight-fit is added to prevent the rod from bending while keeping it centered so that it does not touch the rifling while cleaning. First, select the guide body that fits your rifle cartridge, and then select the insert with an appropriate inside diameter for your particular rod. Both guide body and insert are made from Delrin and have rubber O-rings that seal to prevent solvent from reaching the action. The bore guide bodies fit rifles, such as the Remington 700, that have .700" diameter bolts.
