The seater has a bullet seating stem that fits precisely and is spring loaded to ensure positive alignment as the bullet and case move up into the seater. The seaters come with a micrometer adjustment on the seating stem that simplifies setting and recording the bullet's seating depth. The micrometer is infinitely adjustable and calibrated in .001 inch increments and has a zero set feature. However, the seater doesn't have any crimping features. Hence it is advisable to use separate Redding Profile Crimp or Taper Crimp dies for crimping. Besides, the Competition seating die is suitable for use with most progressive reloading presses that support handgun and straight wall cases.
