The ideal kit for updating older Hornady Sizing dies is the Hornady Zip Spindle Kit. This kit uses a new threaded spindle design with light threads cut on the spindle and collet that eliminate spindle slippage. The spindle lock can be tightened easily when making adjustments. The kit includes a new threaded spindle and a threaded spindle collet. Please note that it does not include a decapping pin retainer or expander ball. Reloader's must use the decapping pin retainer and expander ball that is on their die set. The kit fits any caliber Hornady New Dimension Sizer Dies and converts older dies to the new Zip Spindle design. It is made of steel.

To install, remove the non-threaded spindle, collet, and expander ball from the existing die. Reattach the existing expander ball to the new spindle and install the threaded spindle and threaded collet. This kit is not necessary if the spindle on the expander die is already threaded.
