The Competitor Plus Sling is made entirely in the U.S. of the finest, oak-tanned, top-grain U.S. steer hide. The thick, forged, blued steel hooks are attached to the leather with three rivets each, and the Keepers are tightly stitched and fitted. Unlike other '07 copies, we refuse to compromise on quality; we worked closely with our sling maker to produce a sling that gun owners really want - one that's better, not just cheaper.

The leather used to make the Competitor Plus Sling is of exceptional quality, being a full, heavy-weight, 9-10 ounce leather that has been tanned correctly for sling use. Its tanning imparts maximum flexibility, stability, and toughness, so it doesn't stretch or become oily. We use oak tannage and not chromic salts to tan the leather, which prevents tarnishing and corrosion on any metal the leather comes into contact with. Finally, the leather is given a smooth, burnished finish that accentuates the natural grain of the high-grade leather. This process ensures that Competitor Plus Slings can bend and twist for a tight grip without splitting or cracking, even across the holes. A minimal amount of medium tanning oil is added during the process. This means that your careful adjustments and precise shooting position won't be fouled up by a rubbery sling.

Each blued steel hook is locked onto the leather with three hand-hammered copper rivets. The added steel ensures that the hooks do not bend under the extreme pressure created when you lock into position.
