Looking for an easy and quick way to clean and polish older barrels or put a mirror polish in new ones? Look no further than Flex Hone. Their hundreds of abrasive balls mounted on a flexible shaft make them the fastest and easiest way to get the job done. For used barrels, start with the Medium-Coarse hone to remove rough and tight spots, followed by the Fine hone to bring the bore to a bright finish. If you run a patch through it before and after, you can feel and see the difference. On new barrels, the Fine hone by itself is enough to bring the factory finish up to a beautiful, mirror-bright finish.
Using Flex Hone is simple. Chuck it into a variable speed electric drill, wet the hone with Flex Hone oil, and insert the hone into the barrel from the breech end (if possible). The abrasive balls will create a slurry of abrasive and oil to help speed up the cutting action. Flex Hone is available in sets and individual hones for 10, 12, 16, and 20 gauge barrels, as well as .410 bore, with special-sized hones for 10, 12, 16, 20 gauge chambers and .410 bore. Instructions are included to guide you through the steps for a perfect job.
It's important to note that you must use Flex Hone oil, as all other oils will destroy the abrasive balls and void their guarantee. Also, keep the RPM under 750 and avoid using excess pressure. Check out the Flex-Hone PDF for more information.
